Hitzfeld urges Bayern Munich to sign Benatia

The ex-Switzerland boss feels the reigning
Bundesliga champions should act now and lure
the Roma centre-back to the Allianz Arena

Former Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has
urged the Bundesliga champions to sign Mehdi
Benatia from Roma.
Pep Guardiola's side are in the market for
defensive reinforcements after Javi Martinez was
ruled out for the remainder of the calendar year
with a knee injury.
"Benatia is the captain of Morocco's national team
and he has a lot of quality," Hitzfeld told Sky90.
"In the end, it's all about whether he can help
Bayern forward. Bayern need quality and should
act now."
In preparation for Benatia's exit, Roma have had
a £10.3 million bid for Kostas Manolas accepted
by Olympiakos and are now finalising a deal for
the Greece international .
