Victor Moses has today joined Stoke City on loan
until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge in
August 2012 and helped the Blues win the Europa
League the following year, netting four times en
route to the final.
Moses represented Nigeria at this summer's
World Cup and was also an integral part of the
Super Eagles side which won the African Cup of
Nations last year.
Moses spent the 2013/14 campaign on loan at
Liverpool, and returns to the North-West for the
forthcoming season.
We wish Victor luck at Stoke and you will be able
to keep up to date with his progress
Victor Moses signed from Wigan Athletic on 24
August 2012.
The 21-year-old winger's last appearance in Wigan
colours had come in Chelsea's 2-0 win at the DW
Stadium the previous weekend, when he caught
the eye with his strong running out wide.
The Nigerian international is a product of the
Crystal Palace youth academy and made his first
team debut for the south London club in late
2007.
After establishing himself with the Championship
side, Moses transferred to Wigan at the end of
January 2010, shortly after Palace's financial
problems had forced them into adminstration,
and quickly settled into life in the Barclays
Premier League.
In total he played 74 league games for the Latics,
following 58 for Crystal Palace.
At international level, Moses appeared for
England from schoolboy up to Under 21, but has
opted to represent Nigeria at senior level, and
made his debut in February 2012 against
Rwanda.
Moses was an unused substitute during our 4-1
UEFA Super Cup defeat at the hands of Atletico
Madrid in Monaco, before coming on as a second-
half substitute in successive league games against
Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City.
He made his first start for the club in the 6-0 win
over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Capital
One Cup, and capped a solid display with his first
goal for the Blues, heading home to complete the
scoring on the night.
A week later he was handed his European debut,
starting in the 4-0 win against FC Nordsjaelland
before being replaced by Eden Hazard midway
through the second half.
Having impressed in the 5-4 Capital One Cup win
against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge,
Moses was handed his first league start three days
later for the visit to Swansea. He appeared to have
secured all three points for the Blues by giving us
the lead midway through the second half with a
close-range header, before the home side
equalised in the closing stages.
Four days later, however, Moses was the hero
when he headed home a stoppage-time winner to
secure a 3-2 Champions League win over
Shakhtar Donetsk.
He also scored in both legs of our Europa League
quarter-final win over Rubin Kazan.
Having also scored an important goal in an FA
Cup third-round win away at Southampton, he
then travelled to South Africa to represent Nigeria
at the Africa Cup of Nations and was outstanding
as his nation won the tournament for the first
time since 1994. Qualification for the knockout
stage was in doubt before Moses won and scored
two late penalties in the third group game. He was
also involved in the final's only goal against
Burkina Faso.
Having not played in the first four matches of the
2012/13 season, and with Willian and Samuel
Eto'o joining and Jose Mourinho wanting to
manage the size of his squad, on transfer deadline
day Moses moved to Liverpool on a season-long
loan.
At the end of the 2013/14 season he was named in
the Nigerian squad ahead of the World Cup and
featured in all of their matches as they reached
the Second Round.
On 16 August 2014 it was announced that Moses
had joined Stoke City on loan until the end of the season
