Robin Williams discussed suicide in chilling podcast recorded four years before he took his own life

The tragic actor talked about buying a gun but reflects that 'life is pretty good right now'

ROBIN Williams held a conversation about suicide four years before taking his own life, it has been revealed.

The comic actor made the comments during a 2010 podcast where he interviewed himself.

In the candid monologue, Robin talks about his battles with alcoholism, depression and anxiety - and discusses one moment where he felt unable to cope.

The Good Will Hunting star said: "When I was drinking, there was only one time even for a moment when I thought, 'Aw, f*** life.'"

The actor, who was found dead in his home aged 63, describes how his conscience talked him out of committing suicide.

Acting as his inner voice, Robin continues: "Did you honestly just say, 'f*** life?'

"You know, you have a pretty good life as it is right now.

"Have you noticed the two houses? Have you noticed the girlfriend? Have you noticed that things are pretty good, even though you may not be working right now?"

Robin's conscience also asks him whether he'd considered "buying a gun," to which the actor replies: "No."

The comments were made during the WTF podcast run by comedian Marc Maron.

Paying tribute to Robin, Marc said: "He was the king. The spirit of pure comedy ran through this guy. He was unto himself."
