Robin Williams' ashes scattered 'the day after his death

Late actor laid to rest in San Francisco Bay

NEWS of Robin Williams' tragic death shocked the nation when it was announced earlier this month.

Now, just over a week after the late actor's suicide was confirmed, new reports show his ashes were scattered the day after he passed.

According to the Mirror, the Mrs. Doubtfire star's death certificate states that he was laid to rest "in San Francisco Bay off the coast of Marin County."

It had been Robin's home for almost 50 years.

On Sunday, it was reported that close friends and family were gathering for a 'very private' memorial service to be held in his home town of Tiburon.

The comedian's third wife Susan Schneider confirmed the plans, with the 63-year-old's eldest son saying it would be a "very small and intimate" affair

Robin died on August 11 in what is thought to be an unplanned suicide.

He is believed to have been making many future plans with a friend just hours before the tragic event.
