Futurama lives!
The voice cast of the late animated comedy
from Simpsons creator Matt Groening, which
wrapped its seven-season run in September
2013, will guest-star in The Simpsons' Season 26
premiere on Sunday, September 28, Fox
announced Sunday.
Futurama vets Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey
Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr, Lauren
Tom, and Tress MacNeille will all drop by
Springfield for a crossover between the two
animated series, which was first announced at
Comic-Con last year. The episode posits the
question of "Would you go back in time to kill
Hitler?" with Bender being sent back to the past to
murder Bart because Bart does something
that screws up the future. Jane Fonda and Willem
Dafoe will also join the fun, with Fonda playing
Mr. Burns' girlfriend, Democratic
Assemblywoman Maxine Lombard, and Dafoe
portraying Bart's tough new teacher, Mr. Lassen.
This is in addition to the Simpsons crossover
with Family Guy that will air later that same
evening.
Fox also announced several Simpsons voice
guests for the rest of the season, including Parks
and Recreation's Nick Offerman, Frasier's David
Hyde Pierce, Sarah Silverman, and Jeffrey Ross.
Elsewhere in the network's Sunday-night lineup,
Offerman will also lend his vocal talents to Bob's
Burgers' fifth season. He'll be joined on the
show's Season 5 guest roster by Kevin Kline, The
Hangover's Zach Galifianakis, SNL alums Bill
Hader and Molly Shannon, Parks and Rec's Aziz
Ansari, Carl Reiner, Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Joe Lo
Truglio, and Key & Peele's Jordan
Peele and Keegan Michael Key.
Meanwhile, American Dad and Family Guy are
adding to their guest-star ranks as well.
Kim Kardashian, House of Cards and The
Strain's Corey Stoll, and The Walking
Dead's Steven Yeun will appear on the Fox finale
of American Dad on Sunday, September 21 before
the show moves to TBS. A week earlier, on
Sunday, September 14, 30 Rock's Jane
Krakowski and John Lutz will reunite to lend their
pipes to the show's season premiere.
On the Family Guy front, Quahog will
welcome Julie Bowen, Liam Neeson, and Allison
Janney in upcoming episodes.
Finally, Fox also announced that Emmy-
winner Hank Azaria, long known for his voice
work on The Simpsons, will voice the lead
character of Fox's new animated series
Bordertown from Seth MacFarlane.
