Twitter News: Did Tony Blair Deserve “Philanthropist Of The Year” Award?

GQ named the former British Prime
Minister "Philanthropist Of The Year" and
set the internet ablaze

Former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair
was yesterday, September 2,2014, given the
award of "Philanthropist of the Year" by
GQ.
The 2014 GQ Men Of The Year Awards held at the
Royal Opera House in London, England.
Blair was honoured for his "tireless charitable
work", according to the organizers.
However, the award has caused a furor on the
internet, especially Twitter, with many
questioning whether he truly deserved it.
Some Twitter users had this to say:
Philanthropist means 'lover of people' not 'lying
war criminal responsible for the deaths of over a
million people'

Those bewildered about Tony Blair's award
should note that GQ also made Kim Kardashian
Woman of the Year. So, yeah, time to move on!

Does the GQ award for philanthropist of the
year dispense enough soap to cleaning the blood
off Tony Blair's hands? #heavyhandedsatire

I wonder who other Philanthropists of the year
have been, Hitler? Stalin? Pol Pot? Tony Blair's
award is a f**king joke.

"Tony Blair has won Philanthropist of the Year
at the GQ Awards, seeing off tough competition
from Kim Jong Un, and ISIS"

People shouldn't be so angry with GQ. I also
often confuse the words "philanthropist" and
"war monger" #tonyblair

Meanwhile, GQ Awards producer, Richard
Dodson has defended Blair saying that he
deserved the award for the work his Faith
Foundation had done in developing countries.
