Insecurity: Jonathan And Obasanjo Meet In Abuja ' The former president and the incumbent met in Aso Rock to discuss the security issues in the country

President Goodluck Jonathan and former
president, Olusegun Obasanjo have put
aside their much-publicized differences to
find a solution to the problem of insecurity
in the country.
The meeting between the two yesterday, August
27, 2014 at the state house in Abuja.
OBJ and GEJ reportedly discussed the security
challenge posed by Boko Haram in the Northern
part of the country.
The former president is believed to have
connections with people close to the sect and he
took part in attempts to broker the release of the
over 200 girls kidnapped on April 14, 2014 by
Boko Haram.
Chief Obasanjo said:
"Yes, I can confirm that I met with Mr. President
on his invitation. In fact, he had wanted to come
down to Abeokuta, but as a sign of respect to the
Office of the President, I had to go. We had
discussion on the country's security issues and
that is all,"
Obasanjo recently accused Jonathan of
destroying the Nigerian middle class and running
an administration very much like that of late
dictator, Sani Abacha.
